Motivation is the reason for people’s actions, willingness and goals. Motivation is derived from the word motive which is defined as a need that requires satisfaction. These needs could also be wants or desires that are acquired through influence of culture, society, lifestyle, etc. or generally innate. Motivation is one’s direction to behavior, or what causes a person to want to repeat a behavior, a set of force that acts behind the motives. An individual’s motivation may be inspired by others or events (extrinsic motivation) or it may come from within the individual (intrinsic motivation). Motivation has been considered as one of the most important reasons that inspires a person to move forward. Mastering motivation to allow sustained and deliberate practice is central to high levels of achievement e.g. in the worlds of elite sport, medicine or music.

Use what motivates you to build your business. Motivation comes easily if there is a Dream or Goal that excites you.
What do you Love to do?
Me: I love to garden … I love to take outstanding photos … I love to eat healthy.
So think about this —- these things or activities that I love make me happy and put me and my mood in a good place. I can talk for hours (literally) about them and never lose my excitement. I can use these “triggers” or “loves” to grow my business. These topics motivate me.
Here’s how —- Start a blog and get excited about sharing your gardening skills and advice, your excellent photo shoot sessions or just a great picture each day. Or how about some Good recipes that you actually make and eat on a regular basis. Be genuine and focus on sharing these things.
Don’t spend time looking at what others are trying to do to build “their” business. Focus on yours!
Make sure you have or use items from your business and incorporate them into your blog posts.
Be Genuine … Encouraging .. and Have Fun!
Checked with my Pinterest boards and I have one titled Motivation. Let me know if you have something that should be there!!
Almost, not quite, but almost 20 years ago I was an Avon representative. I did well as a Leader and really enjoyed selling Avon products. Fast forward to now … we moved, we moved again and have decided to move once again. Hmmm, is there a pattern here? We like to move? Not really, but this time will be our last since we are now focused on our children and grandchildren.
Recently, we were blessed with our very first grandchild and Gramma me was asked to babysit a couple days during the week! Of Course I said Yes!!!! So once again I will enjoy the rewards of being with little ones (my daughter already told me to be prepared to watch hers also)! Joining the ranks of “stay-at-home” Gramma will allow me some time to focus on building a business (so I am telling myself) and as I reflected on my past I realized something. I had FUN when I sold Avon and became a Leader. It was exciting, along with a lot of work, and I still remember how to do it! One of the benefits these days is the on-line shopping experience which has changed lives completely.
Avon most certainly has fantastic products and a good reputation. The sunscreen and bug guard are by far two of the products I simply must have. The whole array of Avon products allows each representative the ability to focus on what they love and genuinely market that. I enjoy Nail art and Baking cookies and I do need to up my skincare regimen … and also my wellness program.
Avon has wonderful products and a reputable opportunity to build your own business. So as I am playing with the grand kids, I can teach them all about Avon and who knows … they may become Avon representatives some day! I clearly remember my Mom visiting the neighborhood ladies with her Avon samples at coffee clutches and introducing them to Avon. Do you have fond memories of Avon when you were a child?
Sure, there are a lot of dreams and aspirations you have, but really … setting a goal AND attaining it? This takes some thought. How do you look at a future date and think backwards?
With 2019 right on the horizon … it is time to set some Goals!
I don’t usually do this every year, but this year is quite different. I will be launching my new Avon career and taking charge by setting these goals is what I need to do. I have a whole lot of other things going on like my daughter getting married “at my home” this Spring, me starting to babysit for my First Grand baby AND we would like to MOVE!! So where do I begin to organize my thoughts let alone set goals?
A List ……… 5 Goals
I am a list maker … I live by lists. If I don’t have a list of things to do or things that need attention in the near future I am simply lost — wandering about my day with no meaning. Right now my desk has a few new lists here and there and some organization tasks in my mind, but Goals ……
I am stumped!
Usually though ……. And almost always when I sleep on something, I wake with the answer.
So here’s hoping I wake tomorrow morning with my Goals all set ………
Update = Next Morning!! I have My Goals …… amazing, how that works. There is a truth to it when someone says “Sleep on It”.
These larger than life Goals can be broken down into smaller “how to get there” goals. Which is my next step …
I definitely have a feeling of satisfaction and even determination now that I know where I am heading. I am sure there will be a few detours along the way, but I have My Goals!!
